- Account data: email address, first name, birthday, country and category preferences.
- Usage data: deals you save, claim or click, marketing preferences and referral activity.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and approximate location, collected via cookies and server logs.
- Marketing lead data: if you submit an email through a lead capture form, we store the email, consent record and source page.
2. How we use your data
- Delivering the members' area, birthday countdown and personalised deal recommendations.
- Sending transactional emails (account, birthday reminders you've opted into).
- Sending marketing emails only where you have given explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Running the monthly referral giveaway.
- Preventing fraud, abuse and technical failure.
3. Third parties we rely on
We keep the list short and only work with providers that meet UK GDPR requirements.
- Lovable & Supabase — the platform and database that host the app and store your account data. Data is stored in the EU/UK region where possible.
- Google — used for optional Google sign-in (OAuth) and, where enabled, Google Analytics or reCAPTCHA. When you use Google sign-in, Google shares your name, email address and profile image with us; we do not receive your Google password.
- Email delivery providers — used to send transactional and (with consent) marketing emails.
- Affiliate networks & brand partners — when you click certain deals we may pass an anonymous click identifier so the merchant can attribute a sale. See our Cookies policy and the "Affiliate links" section below.
4. Affiliate links
Some deals on Birthday Freebies are affiliate links. This means if you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked with an "Ad" or "Offer" label. Clicking an affiliate link may drop a cookie from the retailer or affiliate network onto your device. Commissions help keep the free tier free.
